The Boston Red Sox almost hired Jackie Robinson. They would've been the first team with a black player. Instead, they were the last.

During WWII a 15 year old was drafted up to pitch in the major league. When I was 15, I was playing my best baseball but fucking hell.

That same year, Ted Williams hit .406. Which means he failed 60% of the time. But no one's hit over .400 since.

After one game of no hits, he started another streak. All told Joe DiMaggio hit safely in 72 out of 73 games. That's so insane.
