Day 4 on the job. Sneaking hCard into the codebase.
Semantic HTML isn't just The Right Thing™ to do. It's also more readable.
In reply to:@drbrain *My* moving was easy. Already packed in my van. My lady gentleman caller has a bit more stuff, though. And it's a 45 minute drive.
And to begin today's Music to Code By™: Thirst by Citizen Fish. Then the Avail discography.
The sprint is on. I have two days to restyle 10 sections/pages of the site. With no comps. And... Go.
Moving to new house + starting a new job the same week = a very tired me. This is the first time I've touched my computer in days. Egads!
Knock on effect of using CSS for rounded corners, you can safely use first/last/nth-child to target those rounded corner things. Bonus!
It's a recession, people. We can't afford to throw around extra angle brackets.
I gotta say, it's *awesome* working on a dev team that's all Mac.
In reply to:@tonyxprice 'Locke a Like' is my favourite.
In reply to:@tonyxprice I'm not sure. But why bother? It's just extra noise.
In reply to:@tonyxprice I'd rather write IE specific proprietary rules that can be put in their own CSS file, than add non-semantic HTML & extra images.
In reply to:@tonyxprice Ugly page. Good examples. http://www.ssi-developer.net/css/visual-filters.shtml
Only IE 5.5+ for most!
Yak, shaved.
PS. I'm learning more about IE 'CSS' filters than I ever thought I would.
In reply to:@topfunky Blog feature request: j and k keyboard shortcuts to got to older/newer
In reply to:@josephks I've learned that jokes are funnier when they need to be explained. <also sarcasm>
To start the day's Music to Code By™: A Silver Mt Zion
In reply to:@josephks I was clearly being sarcastic. They would never kill Hurley. You were just dropping spoilers. Poor form, dude.
They killed Hurley on the season premiere. What the what?
In reply to:@ltackett The project I'm on isn't using Compass.
Today's Music to Code By™:
Rage Against the Machine, Propagandhi, Bikini Kill, I-Spy, Discount.Maybe I'm overcompensating.
IE, no rounded corners for you. You'll get CSS gradients using your stupid IE filters. And you'll be grateful you're getting that much.
East Coast / Mid West friends, please don't tweet about Lost for a few hours after it airs. Don't spoil for us left coasters. Kthx.
In reply to:@hrrrthrrr Is that your workstation?
