The burglar stepped back outside the backdoor and looked over the gate at my neighbors who were BBQing. He decided to not leave that way.

Even just a year ago, Civ would tore this guy up. She's always been protective of me, her pack and our home. (She's also always hated cops.)

(Frankly, the only reason the burglar has his legs in one piece is because Civ is 14 and dying and can barely stand.)

The burglar yelled at my dog things like, “Shut the fuck up, Civ. You're such an annoying dog!”

When the burglar came back downstairs my dog (Civ) barked and growled at him more aggressively and he got more mean at her.
