    @headius I (and I would hope most people who love Ruby) want Ruby being fast enough to do all of the things we need to do without C etc.

    @headius In the case of some C Extension in Ruby/Rubinius/JRuby, we are definitely leaning on C to make Ruby fast.

    @steveklabnik I think the school of "Rubyists Should Learn C" generally translates to "… so you can write CEXTs when Ruby is too slow."
