    15 Pounds of Chicken of the Woods Mushroom from a Tree in LA

    <p>Yesterday after lunch, Evan and I saw this massive mushroom on a tree.</p>

<p>The next day I showed the picture to Alex who said "that's Chicken of the Woods". Which sounded right to me from the bit of mushroom research I did a few years ago. I ran it by my mushroom-hunting-nerd friend, Aaron Patterson. He gave me the "sure looks like it to me" seal of approval. So Alex and I went back and harvested it. </p>
