1. <p><a href="http://www.thekingdommovie.com/" title="The Kingdom Movie Trailer">The trailer is a total turd</a>. Absolutely typical. </p>

<p><a href="http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/thekingdom.html?showVideo=1" title="the Kingdom Movie's first four minutes">The first four minutes</a>, however, are gorgeous. Really gripping. Super dense information packed into those 180 seconds (the first bit is just studio logos and intro credits). Watch it a few times. It's worth it. Though, instead of watching it on the Yahoo Movies site, download the Quicktime movie stream file and watch it full screen. Much better. Here are the different sizes: <a href="http://us.rd.yahoo.com/movies/hdtrailers/universal/thekingdom/480/?http://cosmos.bcst.yahoo.com/up/player/process/qtlHD.qtl?node_id=4259075&amp;hdtype=480p">480p</a>, <a href="http://us.rd.yahoo.com/movies/hdtrailers/universal/thekingdom/720/?http://cosmos.bcst.yahoo.com/up/player/process/qtlHD.qtl?node_id=4259075&amp;hdtype=720p">720p</a>, <a href="http://us.rd.yahoo.com/movies/hdtrailers/universal/thekingdom/1080/?http://cosmos.bcst.yahoo.com/up/player/process/qtlHD.qtl?node_id=4259075&amp;hdtype=1080p">1080p</a>.</p>

<p>This is a great example of how badly the studios represent movies in their trailers compared to what the director themselves would do.</p>

<p>I interviewed at a startup today to do front UI kind of stuff within a rails web app. I feel like i totally tanked it. Mainly, because my javascript is absolute total shit. It's too bad. They seemed like nice people. The office was a nice environment. Their domain has some interesting problems that they're setting out to solve. It was the longest interview and by the far the most technical that I've ever gone through. Lots of dry erase board time. They really grilled me on my javascript. Ouch.</p>
